Message: The Dakota is an awesome truck, it went through a lot of testing to get where it is today. Chryslers top Executives made an agreement with the UAW two years ago to provide extra workers for testing the soon to be released products including the Dakota, 300M, Pt Cruiser convertible. Soon there were over 30 Temporary workers testing theses cars. These workers were paying full union dues, and were going to work the Uaw’s 119 day contract then be released, for a new batch. At the end of the 119 days the Uaw and Chrysler kept the same group of temps working, and working, for two years. The Workers tested the new cars for ten hours a day Seven days a week for two years straight. They did not receive benefits or vacation, Just the privilege of testing the cars. In September of 2003, Chrysler and the Uaw told the workers there hard work had paid off that the new Uaw contract would include a clause for the Temporary workers to be hired as permanent staff. Time went by and the Temporary Workers voted to ratify the Uaw contract and expected to hear the good news. The Union officials then told The Workers that they would not be eligible for the Uaw contract bonus, and that they were to be laid off in December. The temp workers were shocked and tried to file grievances with The Uaw and Chrysler but were told not to talk about it and the Uaw would not support them. The Temporary workers were officially laid off on December 24th 2003.
Feel Free to let Chryslers Don Goodween know how you feel, DEG@dcx.com

Message: Cry me a river. You could pay me 15 bucks an hour and I would do the same job and not cry about it. What could be better than testing cars? Phuck the unions anyways!

Message: Your gonna burn for that one. I used to work for Lockheed Martin and was there almost five years before I left. And I owe alot to the Local UAW for all the benefits I had when I was there. UAW if you didn't know covered aerospace workers as well as auto workers.

Message: Sounds to me like the UAW got in bed with Chrysler and screwed you. So your problem is with the UAW. Go to the UAW site and ask them to please use Vasoline next time. But you shouldn't use this board as your soap box.
