Subject: R/T tires IP: Logged
Message: I know a similar question has probably been asked before. But what are the best performance tires anyone has had on there 17x9 rims. Also, will any other size fit because there are not many choices in the 255/55 R17 OEM size.
Thanks

Message: Most people go with the 255/55-17, 255/50-17, 255/60-17, or 275/50/17. Go to tirerack.com or tires.com.
I just purchases 4 x 255/55-17 Kumho's from tirerack.com for $370 shipped. Not a bad deal. I ordered on a Friday they arrived on a Monday. Not bad. I've been satisfied with them so far.

Message: I have Kumho proxys now. But the best set I've had have been the Nokian WR's. I know they list as snow tires but you cannot beat the grip. They are a little more money but if you want performance, these will not disappoint you.
2000 CC R/T 52mm TB, M1, 2.02 R/T heads (polished chambers), headers 3.5" exhaust, flowmaster 40 single, MP PCM, removed engine driven fan(It's back on now Damnit), MSD ign-BTM, Taylor "409" plug wires with boots, Keith Black pistons, 5140 rods, ARP head studs, Hotchkis suspension 2/3 drop, Transgo shift kit, lot's of little stuff! More to come!

Message: I'm looking for some good tires too. But, I only need them for summer and maybe light rain. I want something with good grip and not too alful loud. I can stand some noise but i don't want it louder than my exhaust ;)

Message: The Kumho's have given me zero road noise. They gripped on wet roads.
Nitto's are supposed to be the best for hooking up on wet roads from what I hear. Kinda expensive though.

Message: when i had my 17's i had kumhos and they were pretty nice.. careful though they might wear down fast if you spin out alot or do a daily burnout.
