Subject: Drivers door window hanging up IP: Logged
Message: Electric Windows
Has been sluggish on rolling up & down for last couple of months.
Yesterday while rolling it down I heard a "pop" and the window stopped going down yet the motor get running until I let off the button. Instinctively pushed button to roll windo up and heard hardware hit window then window went up. Nothing when I tried to roll it back down. I determined (while doing 75 down the interstate) that the window must have somehow seperated from the framework wihtin the door.
When I got home, I pulled the door panel and verified my theory. The window appears to be only held in the framework by the pressure of a squeeze clip on each end of glass. After reseating the window in the framework window, it rolled up to a point then popped back out again. It appears the front stationary track (non moving part mounted in front part of door to guide window) is where my bind is. Nothing is bent and I have previously noticed that when the window is wet, it appears to roll up & down a lot smoother.
Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Has anyone else had this problem?

Message: Its not the motor, reread what I originally posted. The motor is working so well that when the glass binds up in the track, the motor pulls the framework off the window.
I am going to lube the tracks as 360 recommends and see f that fixes it.

Message: JB Weld on the clip/window assy! let it harden for at least a day , up to 3 if possible for max hardness, then try it! something else that hardens well and holds forever once hard is weather stiping glue. A while ago a company I worked with built a machine that glued said frame assemblies onto the glass just for power windows, but I'll be consarned if I caint remember the name of the black glue that came in 55 gallon drums. All I can remember is the stuff ran around 5G a barrel.
