Message: Ok folks, I just got my new 2004 Quad Cab SLT V8 about 3 hours ago and got a question...It's the maroon (Molten Red) with the taupe (gray/silver) interior. Would y'all put a generic black/gray spray in bedliner in it or maybe go with maybe matching the interior color ??? I don't, and won't, be using the bed much and am doing it more fer looks and "thought" that maybe trying to match the interior color and getting the Dodge Ram added on would be awesome but want input...Thanx soooo much fer talking me into getting the V8 1st off...and 2nd. thanx fer talking me outta getting rid of my Silverado; I love this Dakota and only got 100 miles on it !!!!
Marty...Oh yea, and any preference on Line-X, Rhino, etc......Thanx again !!!

Message: From what I have heard, the colors other than black tend to fade in sunlight (and sometimes even the black fades).
Also, you won't see the interior and bed next to each other. But a black bed would match the black tires nicely.

Message: Yes I read the message and you wanted opions between rhino/x-llner, however, unless the prices are alot cheaper than the $600 they were going to charge me AND you stated you weren't going to use it much. DO IT YOURSELF. I was at the very same crossroads a year ago and went with the "do it yourself" herculiner. Have never regretted it and it cost about $75 with ALL supplies to put it on. It'll take you a full weekend, but is worth the pride you'll have of doing it yourself, and saving a crap load of money. If you have any other questions for me, post again. Hope this helps.

Message: Id talk to as many people as possible who've had do it yourself liners on for a couple years or more before you settle that option. That's one hell of a thing to fix yourself if it starts to look like dookie in 1 year, whereas I hear most of these aftermarket spray ons come with a warranty.

Message: Mine has been on for 10 months, but under a "lid" most of the time. Still looks brand new. I'm sure having it covered has helped, but you can afford a cover if you don't waste it on a rhino liner.
P.S. Are you a Rhino liner dealer...HA

Message: I second the bedrug. Since you won't be doing major hauling the bedrug looks nicer (I had a rhino on my 4x4 5.2 and have a bedrug on my little 03 v6). It stands up real nice, get lots of compliments on it. I bought a peragon which arrived today after 7 week backorder (which they told me when I ordered) so that and the bedliner together should be very nice. Glad you like your dakota, it's my second and I have no regrets.

Message: Ok now...I got a Line-X put in here in Austin by Line-X of Austin and it's totally awesome...Dealt with Patrick (the owner) and Chris (the installer), and both were very very professional as well as extremely nice guys...To put it bluntly, the Rhino I had in my 99 doesn't even compare to this jewel...I'm gonna take a pic tomorrow if the weather holds up but also gonna get my windows tinted a little, so might be a day or 2...but overall, Line-X beats the heck out of rhino but that's just from looking at the professionalism and perfection; I'm not putting down Rhino, just praising line-x of Austin and letting you know I totally LOVE mine...And the Dodge Ram in front adds about $200 just for the looks (and no I didn't pay that to add it on)...It just looks great....I think I did right and did pay right at $400 but after a $20,000 payout for the truck Saturday $400 didn't seem like a huge deal for added security and fantastic looks. Thanx, Marty

Message: Rhino in my truck, no complaints. Know people with Line-X, they have no complaints either. Should cost around $400 for either brand. The key to either one is the shop MUST do good prep work first, at least an hours worth of scuffing the bed. If not, any applied bed liner will fail. Good luck
2002 QC 4x4 Sport Plus, 4.7L, auto, Patriot Blue, Tire & Handling group, Heavy Duty Service group, Leer cap w/out windows, Mopar Step bars and roof rack, Rhino liner in bed and on step bars, Pace Edwards Power Tailgate lock 3.55 rear, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, all possible fluids are AMSOIL

Message: Good to see another proud Aggie Dakota owner on the board. I got the Rhino in mine and have no complaints. I had an old aluminum truck box sliding around in the back of my bed for a few months and it didn't do a lick of damage to my liner.

Message: I am up in Pa. And while we don't get the heat for as long as y'all do in Texas, we have some pretty funky weather...hot then cold, rain, snow, ice. You get the picture.
I have a LineX liner in my Quad Cab and love it. There is nothing I can throw at it that it can't take and looks as good as new after 2 years. I definitely recommend them.
Here is another thought. My local fire department relies solely on LineX for their needs. They tried both but only the LineX product withstood the demands of being used and abused in real life situations.

Message: isn't there a mopar plastic bed liner with a ram head logo at the front end out there?
would be a lot cheaper than spray on, just put a few self tapping screws into it unless you are putting on a bed cover, people will try to steal that
