Subject: Removed the tailpipe

Message:
The other day my tailpipe came disconected from my muffler (flowmaster 30series) broken clamp I beleive, well instead of going out and getting a new clamp I decided to take the pipe completely off. I did this because I liked the way it sounded, a lil bit deeper tone than a stang, anyways I was wondering if there would be any power and milage gain or loss because I have removed the pipe. If anyone can give some kind of info to this it would help. Another thing could doing this decrease the engine backpressure to much and cause damage.

i took mine off a year agao, because it kept scraping on driveways. i just added a dump pipe off the end of the muffler. i have had no problems, and have seen no miledge increase, as well as no power increase.
