Subject: cap/rotor/wires change IP: Logged
Message: hey all,
either friday or saturday I'm gonna be changing my cap, rotor, wires, etc. bought the parts already - Borg Warner brass cap and rotor, Purolator pcv valve and paper air filter, Taylor Spiro-Pro 8mm red ignition set. already did the ap3923's last month.
i have a schematic for the wires - which goes where. lol.
do i need to know anything else? (before i get my typing fingers dirty) or is it all a straight swap? dialectric grease anywhere besides the wire-plug connections? on the wire-cap side too?
Thanks as usual,
Jeff
ps- don't laugh at my newbish lack of diy confidence!
:)

Message: Just one more thing to remember Jeff... When
you're all finished and all runs ok, clean up
your *pull tab* finger and have a brew.
Sounds like you're doing everything right but I'm
sure you'll read more good info from others.
Have a great day! :)

Message: Yeah when you are changing your plugs, rip out those hollow housings that are put around the spark plug hole.

Message: justin is right, loose the heat shields that are factory, you dont need them with the taylors. other than that it sounds like you got the bases coverd. have fun ! :)

Message: i figured if i switch over to the cleaner synthetic oil, then i'd get a k/n. but since they let in more dirt (and i live in a desert) i'm gonna stay paper for now. to me, a cleaner engine is better than a few hp from the increased airflow.
