Subject: Which year for R/T? IP: Logged
Message: I love dakotas and have a 93 dakota 3.9L ... its been good to me but... I want to move on up... I've been really wanting to get a used R/T but not sure which year is best... is there any difference (because on one of the forums... there were some complaints about adding low end torque to the 99). Which year do you recommend ? Any tips will be helpful ..thanks!

Message: That's funny, because I have a 93 3.9 too and I'm buying a 99 R/T this weekend.
Everyone with an 88-96 dak needs to get in on the custom gauge group buy. We only need 13 more. www.speedhut.com

Message: although some may tell you elsewise, i really dont think there is a diff powerwise through out the years. some people have slower trucks, some have faster, its just luck of the draw - no vehicle is created equally.
with that said i have a black 99 rc, we all know those are the fastest! good luck on your choice!

Message: pick any year.
it's the mods you choose for it that matter most.
you can join the yahoo dakota r/t forum..and the delphi r/t forum to start learning up.

Message: Something to keep in mind, Mopar Perf. only makes PCMs up to 2000 model year. So if you're planning upgrading to one, get a '00 or older.

Message: Thanks 00R/T CC. As soon as I figure out a good fuel return, I'm putting the powerdyne back on. Then I will feel like it runs like an R/T should.
