is there anyway to check the trouble codes on a '03 R/T without a code checker, i.e. paper clip or jumper.

I want to see if I might have a governor pressure solenoid code.

if you use a paper clip or jumper you will short out the PCM, dummy, use the ignition key, insert it into the ignition,
turn to on
turn to off
turn to on
turn to off
turn to on
read code in odometer window in dash. you have purchased the most advanced truck in the world, and that is one of the advances that D/C built into it.

On some OBD I vehicles (like GM) you would jumper two terminals on the diagnostic connector to get the MIL to flash out the codes.

an '03 R/T is not an OBDI vehicle so what's your point? We are talking Dodge not GM here.
