I have 2002 QC.4x4 auto,no tow pack.I researched archives,is it true all trucks have the blue connector under the dash and also the blue wire for brakes.even if I buy the dodge harness I still need the 4 pin connect for the blue plug under dash,is this correct.what does the dodge harness consist of.I would appr. any info I want to make 1 trip to get everything I need to install the brake control,I want to use the dodge harness because I suspect it should be plug and play,is that correct.I do have exp. with wiring.
thanks kenny

Don't forget all the rest of the tow package, YOU probably have an auto tranny, they sure get hot and boil over w/o a cooler. And the rear brakes are larger on the tow pack. OH yea, the alternator is higher output, and oh yea, the battery is higher amp and larger, and oh yea....

I didn't get the tow package (only includes hitch and wiring) on my 02 QC. I installed the 7-pin wiring harness from Dodge and a brake controller. I never found the 4-pin connector for the controller. Without the factory installed wiring package, I don't know how it would hook up. You don't need it to hook up a brake controller. The aftermarket Dodge harness has a relay for the turn signals (all the lights plug into the existing wiring) and separate wires for the brakes, battery, and ground. The tow package does not include any additonal cooling or electrical items. You need to get the heavy duty service group to get the tranny cooler, etc.

Hey EX,

In 2001 anyway, you could NOT order the trailer towing, without the HD service group, must have been that way in 02 also.
