Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but anyone seen that for 05 there will be a diesel Liberty and a Hemi Grand Cherokee?
Wonder if the Liberty is DC's answer to the hybrid Escape that's due out this summer.

when i was waiting for the truck to finish its maintence the other day at the dealer i was looking in strada magazine and it showed the diesel engine for the liberty.. no specs yet...
as for the hemi in the cherokee.. c'mon what isnt daimlerchrysler putting the hemi in now adays?!

The new Hemi will be rated at 350 HP and 390 ftbls of toruqe. Also expect to see the Cummins 600 in a Jeep at a dealer near you.

the new diesel Libety is of the VM sort from Mercedes. it is a 5 cyl. the 05' WK-bodied Grand Cherokee will have a HEMI available in it

The diesel that is going in the Jeep Liberty is not the cummins 600, but rather a 4-Cylinder Common Rail Diesel, VM Motori engine, a subdivision of Detroit Diesel. It will pump out 160 hp at 3800 rpm and 295 lbft of torque. It is supposed to get 21 mpg city and 27 highway. The diesel Liberty has been offered in Europe for a while now.
