Make someone else scrub it! I filed a claim with the County Road Department and they are gonna fix it. I took it to the body shop and right now the estimate sits at $3,300 to clean it and replace some parts. That's 75 hours of labor! This truck is very,very messed up!! I may also get a brand new set of tires out of it if the body shop can't get them clean. I told them not to scrub to hard on them. I had a few dings in my tailgate from pulling a trailor and the body shop is gonna fix that to. They just made the labor on the estimate a little higher to cover the cost. The Insurance company said they would replace whatever couldn't be got clean. That may include new crossmembers underneath or maybe even a new axle and shocks! Now that's the best way top remove tar.

damn, where do you live? i'm in so cal and i bent a rim on the hollywood freeway, and the city didnt do any thing about it. it was only $65 to fix so i didnt really bug them that much. how many calls did you have to make before they listened to you?

All I did was fill out a claim and turn it in. They called me about 2 weeks later and asked me some questions. They then sent an adjustor to my house a couple of days ago. He was really cool and was totally fair. Maybe even helped me a little.:) I'm now awaiting my check so I can take it to the shop.I think it is very rare that I got out without the supreme court hearing it. I live in Fort Payne Alabama. It's a fairly small town and the county Road dept. has been known to do some DUMB things. I think the insurance company knew I had a good case and so they paid up.
