Best rims? depends on what you are going to use it for. Ya sure as heck ain't gonna use chrome shiney rims for a beater truck ya gonna mostly ofraod with and ya really don't want to use tha 30 year old style of 12 holes and white paint on a street/show machine.

I've seen the 15x8 factory mags at swap meets several times for $300 in great shape, leaving a jingle in your pocket.

I just picked up a set of 15 inch American Racing Tailgunners for my 98 at Pep Boys last week for $71.00 each. I just got a set of Pirelli Scorpions last summer and wanted to just swap my tires over.

The most popular truck rims seem to be the Eagle Alloys 589's. I've got 4 of them on order right now, along with some gnarly Pro Comp tires. One thing you have to look out for is the backspacing on the rims. The stock rims have buku backspacing and most of the aftermarket rims don't. Less backspacing will cause the tire to "stick out" more which might cause rubbing on your bumper valance. Unless you lift the truck, you should probably stick with the 15x8 rim size instead of going wider with the 15x10.

thank you so much for your responses! I have to keep shopping around for them, it's hard because they are to be a gift for someones birthday. So I will look at all of your suggestions. One last question...since this truck has 15" stock tires, would 17" fit on alright without a conversion kit? (just an idea to broaden the selection) ... and any other recommendations?

yeah they do some are runnin 20's. but you may have to go with a low side wall tire. Oh for street use, try bling blings, the cost but they are just soo.
