Message: Simple question: My rotors, like many others are need of replacment (uneven wearing.. feels like an ABS effect of on and off) and I was wondering what aftermarket company sells brake rotors for dakotas ( mine is a 1999 4x4 ), or should i just replace them with the factory ones? thanks

Message: personally, I like the raybestos rotors and pads. I just replaces them on my 01 r/t. they were $75 a piece. A little bit pricy compared to other brands, but I'm sure they're cheaper than Mopar's

Message: Powerslot sells rotors (www.powerslot.com) They are a little pricy but I have no complaints about them. If you look into them, do not get the hawk pads they recommend. They work well for a while, but a glaze builds up on the rotors then they start to scream.

Message: I liked the Powerstop rotors on my last car, they didn't warp.
I put on a set of Raybestos Brutestop rotors (drilled and slotted) on my Dak last night, the old ones were warped realy bad. Took the truck out and seasoned the rotors (moderately brake from 70-30, let the rotors cool while driving for 2-3 mintues and repeat) and they still feel straight. Time will tell if they are going to be a good rotor.
The rotors were about $80 each from Rockauto.com

Message: I agree with the Raybestos recommendations. I'm using their PG Plus rotor series. Very noticeable improvement.

Message:
Alan,
I have had bad luck with cryogenics. I'm not talking about rotors, but metal in general. I send metal out all the time to get heat-treated. One day a company approached me with their "freezing" technique and guarantied their hardness enhancement process was as good or better than the traditional "heat" treating. The typical heat-treated part I usually purchased lasted 6 months on average and the cryogenic treated part lasted less than 3 months. I never gave cryogenics another chance after that.
However, that doesn't mean it wouldn't work good on brake rotors.
