Subject: 255/65/R15 tires IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1999 4X2 Sport with Sport Plus pkg. It has 255/65/R15 Eagle LS. I am looking to replace these tires and there are 2 tires available. The same Eagle LS which I am not happy with and the Pirelli Scorpion Zero, which sound like an awesome tire but are nationally back-ordered. Has anyone run into this problem and what would be involved with changing tire size slightly?
Thanks

Message: Chris,
I live in South Texas and it gets pretty hot here. The Goodyears didn't make it- I had two of them explode on me. My bud and neighbor each lost one the same way. I have 275x60x15 Goodrich T/A's on it now. They are wider and 1/10" shorter. I love 'em. My bud put 255x70x15 Pathfinder (Discount Tire specials) on his. They are taller and narrower. He lost some power going this way.Hope this helps.

Message: I have 275/60/15 BFG Radial T/As on my 2000 QC as well. They are a much better tire than the crappy Goodyears. The Pirelli is supposed to be a very good tire, but they are expensive and hard to come by. Go with the T/As.

Message: I hated my goodyears.. I just replaced them with Jetzon Stealth touring tires. 235/75 R15
Much better ride than the goodyears. much less bounce in the back end, and a lot cheaper for a better tire.

Message: Try going to www.tires.com and check there.
they usually have them (Scorpion Zeros 255/65/15)
I got mine through them.By the way they ARE awesome tires well worth the money,no highway noise, superior wet traction along with dry road .
and they really help the cornering. They blow the air out of the Goodyears.
