Subject: Moog Ball Joints IP: Logged
Message: I have a passenger side upper ball joint going south. The auto parts store tells me that even though they have a part number listed the joints are not available yet. Anybody know anything about what's going on?

Message: The dealers are buying them up so they don't have to replace the whole control arm. No one wants to pay for a control arm on a truck that's out of warranty. This way they can still get the work by lowering the price.

Message: Unfortunately it seems DaimlerChrysler doesnt really see the necessity of balljoints...they seem to view them as luxury add-ons.

Message: I have a 02 cc awd with 67,000 on it and had my ball joints replace with Moog. Best investment ever. The mechanic thought I was crazy for replacing them because there was no play in the wheels, but once he tore it down he found that all 4 had play and the passenger side lower was worse. And we removed the boots on all 4 of the old ones and there was no sign of any grease. Money well spent and alot cheaper than having to fix the 4x4 system and the body work if the wheel ever fell off.
