when my friend drives behind me he says that my front left tire sticks out farther thand my back left tire (noticably farther) on my 92 dakota. Any ideas? It rides fine and i dont notice anything while driving it.

does the truck have a body lift, or has it ever had a lot of bed damage. My first thought is that the truck's bed has been put on a little off.

Get a front end alignment. This can cause "off tracking." Also, the front end guy will be able to tell you what needs to be fixed to align the front end.

Is it the same problem on the right side?
I'm not sure about the Dakotas, but many vehicles are designed with a wider track in the front than in the rear.
It adds understear to the vehicles dynamics allowing for safer cornering.
There may be nothing wrong with you truck afterall.
Just a thought.

As if your rear end is stepping out to the right ? Could also be a tweaked frame or rear axle a bit out of alignment. Best to check with a four wheel alignment machine.
