Subject: Where is the output speed sensor located
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2000 Dakota Sport 2WD regular cab with a 3.9L V6 and an automatic transmission. Yesterday my "check engine" light came on, and this morning when I got the problem diagnosed, it said there was an output speed sensor malfunction. I bought a new output speed sensor, but I haven't been able to find a diagram of a Dakota transmission to see where it goes. However, I looked under the truck, and near the back of the transmission on the left side (about six inches behind the transmission fluid pan), I saw something that looked exactly like what I bought. I just wanted to make absolutely sure that what I saw was indeed the output speed sensor. If anyone can verify that it was, or if any of you have any links to diagrams of a Dakota transmission, please let me know. Thank you. :o)
