 Subject: Long or Short Muffler (magnaflow)

I just setup an appt. to have a dual exhaust system installed. I chose the magnaflow muffler. The tech said they have two configurations, short muffler and long muffler. Shorter is louder and longer or closer to stock. That was there description. Does anyone have the long or short version and how do they sound and perform. I am going to use the magnaflow just unsure of the long or short.

I have the short magnaflow 2.5 single in/single out on a 5.2L. It is pretty mellow until you get the RPMs up but never gets really loud.

I have the Short 2.5" IN / Dual 2.5" OUT. Good rumble w/ a sort of hollow echo at idle and slight throttle and cruising. Crack the throttle WFO and this thing sounds like it's running just straight headers. I Likey. :o)

I've got the magnaflow #14256. Its the middle or shorter one. I'm not sure. Normal driving its mellow. But as soon as you get on it the throttle and it opens up really nice. It even puts a smile on my girls face.

I have already told the tech I want the short magnaflow. I just wanted to re-enforce my decision. Thanks for the quick responses.

I went with magnaflow and just the stcol 2.5 pipe setup, added a stainless tip, sounds great and is also quiet when you want it to be.
It does roar whern you put your foot in it
