Does anyone know the towing capacity of an 04 with auto trans, 3:92, 3.7L V-6. The dealer is not sure and the book only list it for the V-8. I will be towing a bass boat combo that weighs 2700lbs. Thanks

Get the 4.7L if you're going to be doing any towing, the saving on gas mileage alone is worth it.

Look on Dodge.com under the Ram truck. They have a tow guide you can look it up under. For a Reg Cab its up to 5000 lbs. You'll be safe with plenty of margin for a little bass boat.

i can't beleive it, a BRAND NEW TRUCK and allready he has lost the owners manual that spells this out, or,,, he is just too darn lazy to go out to the truck and look.

Oh My God, I have not even purchased the truck yet and the salesman or anyone else at two dealerships did not know. I only looked in the Dakota section of the website. The help that Deerridge gave pointed me to the right chart on the website which is what this board is all about. Before you call someone else lazy aren't you late for your paper route. Glad to help. The guy above is right about the v-8. The 4.7 will pull and carry a bunch more than the 3.7 with about the same MPG. You'll like it alot better in the long run particularly if you get the Quad Cab which is 400 pounds heavier than the RC.
