Subject: ball joints for gen II IP: Logged
Message: i hear a lot about ball joints going bad on dakotas here but is that only for gen 3 dak's. I had a 95 for over 100,000 miles and never had to replace them, and now i have another dak that is a 94 (i really like the old body style) with 70,000 and know that the previous owner didnt have to change them. is the problem only in gen 3 dak's.

Message: It's a Gen III problem. The Gen II's seems to have a better design. They're also lighter, which puts less stress on the suspension.
