Message: I have owned both. K&N FIPK on my '97 Ford F250 5.4l, Intense Performance Stage III on my '99 Dodge Dakota 5.2l. They are both great filter systems. I like the Intense Performance better for a couple reasons:
1. Their customer service is second to none. I broke a part while installing mine and called them to order a new one. I told them it was my fault it broke, but they overnighted a new one free of charge.
2. The intake is behind the grill and draws air from outside the engine compartment. It's more of a true cold intake than the K&N. Also, the pipe is ceramic coated aluminum, so it reflects heat better.
3. They look much cooler. Just my opinion.
K&N makes a great product, but I have to give the nod to the Intense Performance for service and the fact that it was specifically designed to work with our truck.

Message: i had three different intakes on my Magnum; Mopar FIPK (same as K&N), homebrew, edelbrock pro-flo.
by far the best was the K&N. Best performance and mileage.

Message: Hey Greg, went to the members area and tried to log in and I'll be damned if I didn't forget my password to get in there. That's how long it's been. Anyway, I saw your thread title. You've got the monster breathing huh? How's it going. Got all the kinks worked out yet? I still try to get on Dakotatrucks, but not much going on there, so I usually end up over here. There's just too much input on USA for me. Let me know how your baby is doing.

Message: That's cool. At least the hard parts are done. Swapping the cam should be a piece of cake compared to what you've been through in the last few months eh.

Message: I have a 3.9 with a F&B TB, I was considering the IP, but it uses the factory air hat, which I read on this forum, is very restrictive. Guess I'll be going with KN.
