Subject: Low clicking noise? IP: Logged
Message: Well, yesterday was the first time that I started getting a low clicking/rumbling noise coming from inside the cab. I have tried to track down the noise, but the only place I can hear it is inside the cab. The engine runs smooth, and sounds fine. However, I did a test by backing out the truck stepping on the brake. Put it in park, took my foot off the brake (without setting the parking break) and the noise got a little louder. I can only hear the noise when stopped, or in park. As soon as I give it some gas, I can't hear the noise. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the transmission since it gets louder.
Any idea what it could be? By the way, the truck is a 2001 v6 2wd with only 39000 miles on it. I had the dodge dealership replace the transmission fluid at 30,000 miles. I just replaced the pcv valve about a week ago.
Help...

Message: Nevermind...Decided to pull the pcv valve and install the old one. Amazing enough the sound went away who would have thought that something so small could make such a racket? Must have installed a bad valve...that will be the last time I buy a deutsch from autozone!
Thanks again,
Shaun
