There are different part numbers for 5.2 and 5.9

yes you can, the 5.9 will provide more timing for a 5.2, perfect for a modded 5.2. However it would only work with the obd2's, ie: will not work for gen 2 trucks, right Lesley.

96 was a OBDII and genII
still... i am not sure about this.. .but i know the speed sensor and odometer changed in 98. So it might not work with the 97 or before. why you getting rid of it les?

Honestly? I don't know whether it will work with
a 97, and I found a great deal on a 97 pcm. I
talked to Marty from KRC on the phone about it
- he said it "may" and probably would. I was
going to take my chances with it until I found
the other one.
I've talked to a couple of guys on DTO who
have this pcm with their 5.2s and it works
great.
