On my 99 3.9 auto, when i put it into reverse, only in the morning, it takes like 3 seconds to do anything, then slams into reverse real hard. It started doing this a month or two ago. Only time it does it is in the morning. Fluid level is fine. I haven't had the tranmission service done yet and it has 33,000 miles........could that be why? Also, is there a band thats supposed to be adjusted at that time????

Take it in and get it checked, sounds like a fairly bad problem. Could be an adjustment... but I'd say get it checked.
