Subject: More Low End Power IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1995 Dakota 5.2 Ext cab 4x4. i want to get more low end tourque without swapping gears. it seems like it makes tire ripping power at like 3000 rpms and id like to get a little lower in the rpms. Does anyone have any suggestions that are resonably priced? ive thought about a cam, but id might as well do a full rebuild on a 153,000 mile motor. its a perfect truck and doesnt use a bit of oil but, it just seems dumb to only cam it. Sugstions?

Message: Comp Cams 254HR-12 or 262HR-12. You will need better valvesprings as well. My $0.02.

Message: You could try backing off on the zero lash of the rockers just a smidge. Racer's quick trick to lowering peak hp and torque rpms a 100 or so rpms and adding some lowend torque.
