Subject: Horn Problems IP: Logged
Message: OK this is probably a simple fix but I don't know very much about the electrical end of vehicles. The Dak I bought is a 1988 four wheel drive and who ever owned it before had a small 10" steering wheel on it..well I bought a new steering wheel and when I replaced it the adapter that they had installed was upside down. I left it that way for awhile because I didn't have the time to pull it. Well the horn worked perfect while it was like that but I just removed it and realigned the adapter so that the wheel was straight up. When I went to try the horn I noticed that the fuse was blown so I replaced it and the horn still doesn't work..my question is..is there a relay that could be bad or something else that I'm missing?..I don't know why the fuse blew..and I made sure that I had a very good ground with the horn plate when pressed..the book says that the relay will reset itself..is this true..or am I doing something wrong from the start?..sorry for the long post..and thanks for any help.
