Subject: Viper alarm problems IP: Logged
Message: I just waited 7.5 hours for the techs at CC to install a Viper 850XV in my 2001 dak, 4.7L, pwr door/locks/tonneau lock. and now when I get home and arm it it sounds about 2 minutes after arming it and continues to cycle. The trip code is for door alert. The techs are a little confused. I have a merc switch on my tonneau that unlocks with the aux button and locks with the arm button. The merc switch seems ok. I know they had to add an extra relay due to the dak having 2 control modules(? I think, something with different resistances). Anyone have expertise on this please help. thanks

Message: i have a 2001 with a viper as well. They did not know why the system chirped twice on arming, (its the interior compass light staying on). The system will recognize its on after exiting and will still arm the doors. Have them check this out, Im thinking that the alarm goes off after the light fades away and the system thinks there is a change in the vehicle. Try that and let us know.

Message: I dont have the digital overhead console, only the lighted one. The interior lights fade out and about 1 to 5 minutes later the alarm cycle starts going off. It allways signals as a door trigger. Im bringing it in again Fri but am looking here for advise to give them. Regarding my tonneau cover it had keyless lock that worked on the driver door circuit. when the driver door locked/un the tonneau did the same. With the alarm I added a merc switch and had the circuit seperated so that the tonneau unlocks with aux button and locks with all the other doors from the lock button. that way my tonneau isnt getting unlocked with all the doors. Hope this clarifies my system and helps in getting more advise...Thanks to all

Message: Got it working good today. The CC installer balmed it on 3 different spec sheets and the one they used originally was wrong...Whatever. So much for testing the thing before they gave it to me. Nice 10 hour install, 2 days rescheduling work. But it works :) !!!

Message: DEI is not going to help you. They only talk to distributors in their channel, not Joe Blow with a problem.
