Yeppers, the ball joints on these trucks are junk. Welcome to the club. My new Moogs are on order and should be in this week. I can't wait to replace those shoddy factory bj's with Moog aftermarkets. I love my Dakota and I think it is one of the best looking trucks ever made. I was very close to selling it just recently, but Moog finally came out with the bj's for the 2000+ Daks, so I'm keeping the little beauty. I was going to lift it using the Rancho 3" kit, but I think I'll hold off on that for now and see how the Moog bj's and the rest of the front suspension hold up over time. I might go with a body lift so I can fit 33" tires, but I'm leary of doing that because of the whimpy front suspension on these trucks.

Rockauto.com has the ball joints for the Gen 2 and Gen 3 Daks but they are having a hard time keeping them in stock. They sold out their entire inventory of 2000+ Moog bj's in just 2 days. There are more on the way from the Moog factory in Los Angeles. My uppers had to be shipped straight from the Moog warehouse because rockauto.com had already sold out. Once the buying frenzy is over with, you should be able to find the 2000+ bj's readily available.

Good luck everyone!

Kev
