 Subject: spark plug washer - please help

I am about to change the plugs in my 4.7L. I went and got the Autolite 5224 plugs and they came with an odd looking washer. Which way does the washer go on the plug?

put them all on the same way it dosnt matter the just squish to form a perfect seal.....how did the old ones look
