Subject: do it yourself bedliner IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone ever bought a do-it-yourself bedliner kit? I was wondering if I should go for the Rhino liner or buy a paint-on kit. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Message: It is worth the extra money for the spray in. Trust me. There are a lot of products out there, so don't just look at Rhino. There is Z-Liner, Line-X, etc. Personally, I prefer Line-X - but at all costs, I would avoid the do-it-yourself herculiner.

Message: I had a Rhino professionaly installed. It cost about $350 but was worth it. I wouldn't try it on my brand new truck myself.

Message: My friend used Rhino Lining on his new Ram. And I used DIY Herculiner on the trunk of my car. The spray on is much thicker and much more durable. Looks pretty much the same, though. You get what you pay for.

Message: I did the bed of my chevy with herculiner before I sold it. It looked good but that was about all. It does not have the same bond even to etched primer. Also the product is very soft after dry. I set my tool box (50 lbs) and it sank to the metal. Anything would scratch it and peel it up.
But for less than $100 it looked good to clean up the truck for a sale.

Message: I used a product made by Rustoleum (go to their web site) came with everything (brushes, rollers, etc) took about two hours to complete. Looks excellent after a year and has held up to major dirtbike abuse. Severl other guys from work have bought the same kit after seeing mine. BTW - cost less than 100.00

Message: I used the Dupli-Color DIY bedliner. It faded very quickly and is already peeling. Go for the spray in. It will be worth it.
