Does anyone know if upper ball joints from a 99' will fit on a 01'?? I looked everywhere. I can find lowers but no uppers for my 01'.

just put moog uppers in my 01' dakota that are for a 97-99...they work great...if you try to buy uppers for an 01' they will try to sell ya the whole control arm assembly...so just use the 97-99. They do work..

What do you mean they are trying to sell you the whole control
arm? Why are you going to the dealer in the first place? You are
just going to get the same piece of 5hit ball joint again. Go to
rockauto. Think aftermarket people.

Uuhh, the LOCAL AUTO PARTS were the ones that tried to sell me the control arm assembly.... BTW, almost ALL the local stores sells (and stocks) Moogs cheaper that rockauto....no joke.

What brand of ball joints should you look for? Is one better than the other? Are any greasable? Need some for a 1999 dak 4x4. Very hard to change? I do most of my own maint. on my vehicles.

Well just bought upper 99' TRWs at advance-autoparts down the road for $40 each with liftime warrenty. Thay ARE the same BUT the bolts they give you are to small, I put some larger ones in they work fine. RockAuto does'nt have the upper for 01' in stock atleast now but I did order the lowers from them.

I had 65k miles on my dak. The joints were about to pop out of there sockets. I did'nt think they were that bad.
