Question.....

I habe a 99 SLT v8 with power everything. This truck came loaded with everything except the towing package. I recently put a receiver on and did the wiring. My question is, will the turn signals work ok with the factory turn relay, or will I need to go to the parts store and pick up a heavy duty relay? Anyone who has delt with this before knows what i'm trying to say....

Thanks
Z

I just spent the last two weeks towing a 4 horse trailer that not only had turn siganls but markers all over the freakin thing. I had no problems and my turn signal seemed to keep the same pace it normally had. (If you step up to a higher wattage you may get the freaky fast signal when not towing).

However I do not tow on a regular basis. I personly don't think you have anything to worry about. Maybe a hawler will pipe in and back me up.

BTW my truck came with the HD package but not the towing. I added an inline 4 wire addapter.

hope this helps

Can you tell me (probably very simple), What is the difference between the HD package and the towing package?

Thanks again

The HD (heavy duty) deeper cell batery, more powerful alt. larger fluid fills, and an electic fan behind the radiator. (on auto trany cooler.)

Towing package comes with the receiver hitch and a wired hookup (not sure what style, I added my own.)
So as far as we are concerned the HD doesn't really have anything to do with towing.

If anything give it a shot and if you need to replace the flasher unit, do it then.
