This whole thing looks suspicious to me.....
Maybe the deer did go through the windshield and then he had a wreck because of it. That would explain the roof being caved in and the dirt sitting on top of the roof.
The deer didn't do all that damage by himself. Where did all the dirt on the roof come from?

Message: Yeah, it could be fur. There's just one problem. Fur is very light. I guess the wind isn't blowing. Maybe the truck was sitting still when this mad deer charged through the front windshield. If he was traveling at any rate of speed (5mph?) all the fur would have blown off the top of the vehicle.
It's definately not deer droppings. They are black, shaped like a Tylenol Gel Cap, and are about the same size as a Tylenol Gel Cap. The stuff on the roof is definately brown.
Also, why would the roof rack at the back of the Durango bent smashed in? The deer hit the front of the vehicle not the rear. Unless, the deer fell from the sky. LOL!

Message: Or maybe the deer was driving and rolled the truck. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected just as the truck rolled, pinching him in the windshield opening.
I bet he was hammered too. Those deer like to party.

Message: I hit one a few years back when i owned a truck built by another unmentionable company . The thing jumped off the hilside above me right onto the road in broad daylight. I hit is doing about 45 mph. The poor guy bounced off the bumper and skidded across the road and landed in a ditch. I kept driving but had a busted headlight and a very slightly bent bumper. No where near as dramatic of a incident as this one appears to be.

Message: You're right, it probably would be darker... forgot about that. But it's not always black, and I have never seen any that looked like Tylenol gel caps. It always looks like chocolate-covered raisins to me. There's a ton of it all over my backyard, so I'm familiar with the way it looks. Also, I figured it wasn't "fully processed" when it was - uh - projected.
From that article at Snopes:
"Indeed, these pictures are real. We don't know the identity of the unfortunate motorist, but the local police did verify for us that an occurrence like the one depicted in the photographs took place on Interstate Highway 394 near the Minnesota town of Wayzata (just west of Minneapolis) when a deer fell or was knocked off the Highway 101 bridge/overpass and landed on top a passing Dodge Durango, crashing through the windshield and onto the front seat. The driver was fortunate to have escaped with only minor injuries. (The brown dirt-like material on the Durango's roof is probably fecal matter expelled by the deer. The unfortunate animal likely hit the vehicle on its back, then was thrown forward when the driver stepped on the brakes.)"
What looks odd to me is that the hind legs are arranged out so neatly and symmetrically, pointing directly backward.

Message: I know the lady who drove that durango! My dad is her supervisor. She was coming into work in the morning and the deer jumped off the overpass and went into the windshield. It happened in Houghton Lake, Michigan. Many sites say it was a guy driving, it was a lady.

Message: Oh, that's not dirt on top of the roof nor deer poop...it's deer fur. She said it happened so quick she wasn't even sure how the deer did that much damage. Get this though, the lady totalled out her last car by hitting an adult black bear getting off the freeway. Killed the bear and her car was declared totalled. Again, this happened in Houghton Lake Michigan as well. Remind me never to ride with her :)

Message: Sweet truck Erin! Where do you live? You need a roll pan BAD. If the deer fell off a bridge after being hit by a car, it could have hit the ground before going over the bridge!! Maybe all that loose gravel on the roads in the spring got kicked off the bridge by the deer on its way down. Dirt' have you ever shot a deer? If you had, you would know that a deers legs are almost always straight out like that. I shot one that fell off a 200 foot cliff afterward, and its legs looked the same as this ones!

I am working security and people are looking at funny since this is supposed to be a serious job.
I live in Minnesota and I read that in 2002, non-motorcycle deer/car deaths were from the first car hitting the dear and flying over to the second car. 5 people died from that.

Message: Well, that explains how the roof caved in. I guess?
It's still hard to imagine that a deer did that much damage to the roof. Just 3 weeks ago I saw a Lincoln Continental leave the interstate and flip over on it's roof. That car had less damage to it than this Durango. I guess anything is possible.

Message: If this happened in Houghton Lake, Michigan, (on her way to work) why are the plates Minnesota? That would be, uh, quite a daily commute. You must be talking about a different Durango/deer collision.
I have never shot a deer, but the ones that I see by the side of the road seem to have their legs sticking all over the place (or sometimes many yards away!).

Message: Thats a small deer, there is no way it could have done that much. Look at the roof, lol. WTF! did they flip it after nailing the deer? And if they fliped why is the deer still in the window?
Me being an auto body man says thats a flase image. I have seen to damn many deer accidnets. A tree or telaphone poll fell on that Durango.
