Message: all right heres the low down. first off there are alot of messages on here so hopefully mine gets read by someone who can help. i am building a '53 chevy hot rod truck. for this i plan to use a dodge dakota front suspension. this is where you come into play. i dont have the front suspension as of yet. i need everything from rotor to rotor, steering box, and column if possible, rack and pinion, power steering booster if one exists i am not sure. and all the nuts and bolts. oh wait dont let me forget everything else that i forgot like coils and stuff not mentioned that should go with it. i do not want to pay more than $300. please call me at (602)4512945 thanks steve

Message: Since you don't have a front suspension yet, you might reconsider your choice of using a Dakota front end. Mustang front ends are commonly used in hot rod trucks, and are easier and cheaper to come buy. As for where to get them, try a wrecking yard, and if you don't have any luck there, try the classifides. Fox body mustangs are pretty common, and you can find one for a few hundred dollars that is being parted out almost anywhere.

Message: Steve, I hope you check your post, this may be of some help. First I am impressed with your choice of front end parts. 1st and 2nd generation Dakotas should offer strength and reliability for a hot rod, some of these parts helped create the Viper. The challenge is the front suspension relies on the front frame rails. Upper and lower control arms mount to it and changes may require a lot of fabrication. As for a low cost source, if no leads turn up you may want to try a pull-a-part/u-wrench it style salvage yard where you bring your own tools and grab the front suspension as a complete chunk. These are popular in larger communities and offer low prices. As an alternative, have you considered the M body(Volare,Aspen,Diplomat,Gran Fury) front cross member? Upper and lower arms are bolted to the cross member independent of the car's unibody. A negative is the lack of rack and pinion but with L shaped torsion bars, ride height is adjustable without changing coils or spindles. Just some thoughts, best of luck with the hot rod, consider posting a link to pictures as you get the front end installed.
