If you are talking about the REAR disc brake hum when backing up, that might not be enough.
An old trick I know of and use on my 2003 Dakota is to jack up the rear, remove the wheels and brake calipers.
Using a rotory sander with a fine grit go back and forth over the rotor while you let it turn (start the truck and put it in gear). Going back and forth get a cross-hatch look to it. By doing this the brake noise will be gone until it reglazes over.
My Dak made the dreaded hum as soon as I bought it with no miles on it. It sure did the trick for me. Now at almost 15K miles it is making noise again. I've got to get under there again myself.
Here's some actual pictures from me doing this the last time.
This stuff stays liquid unlike the sh*t you get at AutoZone.
Now, this isn't the best of sand wheel you want to be using. But I did't have the correct one at the time so I made due. What you want is the small 2 or 3 inch rubber wheel that has the 2 or 3 inch round pads. They work way better and makes a better cross hatch LOOK when done. But this one still did the trick.
Like this the dreaded hum was conpletely gone.
