Message: Anyone ever take a 318/360 or a 4.7 for that matter and modify it for Marine/boating. These are great engines and I would love to run them on my boat...anyone know how or anyone who has?

Message: I think the hard part would be getting the water jacket exhaust manifolds and a v-drive with the right bolt pattern.
But to answer your Q, nope.

Message: I've seen Mopar big blocks in boats, I'd imagine its been done with small blocks too. Tried any boating sites ?

Message: Yes, both smallblock and bigblock applications were made. Lately? Not so sure, but the older stuff would fit. My, how times have changed. When Mopar was forced to make production 426 Hemis to qualify for NASCAR, they tooled up their marine production line to make as many as 7,000 per year. Those were the days!

Message: Most of the marine engins ran in reverse. That is they the motors ran counter-clockwise as opposed to clock wise.

Message: Isn't that for boats with twin motors, one is set up to run backwards ?

Message: Correct, and not even always done in the case of twin engines.
