 Subject: Brake Controller/tow harness questions

I have a 2000 quad with no tow package.
I bought the 7 pin trailer harness from Dodge which has a harness they say you need to run to the front with a red wire to go to the PDC & a blue wire to go into the cab (but it doesn't say what to do with it in the cab). I assume it is for a brake controller, but I also have the factory brake controller connector under the dash, but I don't know if it is useable.
So the problem/confusion is, what do I do with this connector in relation to this harness? Can the harness be wired/plugged into this connector somewhere in the engine compartment, so that I could then use the factory connector?
