Before I ask the service dept, for those who haven't done thermostat changes or anything to the cooling system, what is the temp gauge reading on your Daks? Where should it be? I notice when i idle in traffic (not moving anywhere or crawling) it can reach dead center at 210 and then the fan kicks on, it then drops alittle. Is this the reason for the 180 t-stat?
Thanks for the info.

That seems to be normal-as long as the fan comes on and the temp drops when it does. What kind of climate?
The 180T-stat is to allow the motor to run cooler.
Mine usually hangs around 190-200

Gauges, I just posted a question about stinking gauges...

My temp gauge has no numbers, has 4 lines, a C, the temp symbol, and a H...at straight up in the middle of the temp symbol, what temp does this represent?

Where should 180 show?

BTW, with the stock 195 t-stat, I was just left of the center of the temp symbol, with a 180 t-stat, now running just right of the 2nd line (or first line past the C)
