 Subject: dash brake light on

the brake light on my dash is on. not the abs light too, just the "brake" light. check engine light was on also, but I had the transmission sensors changed and it went off. but the brake light on the dash remains on. mechanic says nothing is wrong, could it just be a sensor or something?

Are you talking about your emergency brake light? If so, pull the release handle and pull the brake up as far as it will go. Sometimes they don't go up far enough to press the switch. If that's not it, check to see if you have a bad switch.

I know when I had an 87 honda accord the brake light wouldn't turn off and my e brake was off. When I changed the front brake pads the light finally turned off. Just a thought

It is a sensor in the rear end. It is a real common problem and cheap to repair.
