The only place to fill a transmission is through the dipstick tube. And, do it carefully, checking often so as to NOT to overfill the transmission.

It usually states, to check it while running, warm, at idle. That right? I shift my tranny, no dipstick, cept the one driving.

Pinion: from the add mark to the full mark is only a pint, so like OnlyOnePlace said, dont over fill. Check warm, in Neutral, engine running.

Check it with the truck on a level surface too. If you check in on a sloped driveway or road it throws off the dipstick reading.

Drive the truck until the engine is warm about 195 degrees on the temp guage or maybe 10-15 miles, stop the truck on a level surface, put on Ebrake and shift the trans into neutral. Your ready to check the fluid level.

If your checking it cold, in gear, or on a sloped surface your reading will be off.
