Message: Not really sure what an add-a-leaf kit is but when I got my 99 dakota I took it to a spring shop for trucks (big trucks) and they added two leafs to each side for about $200, includes parts and labor. Have been very happy with results.

Message: yes u can add a leaf to an under sprun axle.your local spring shop should make u any lenth spring u want for around $60/pair.usually they want a spring out of your spring pack to match the arc.iwould have them arc the new spring about a .25-.375in greater than stock.u only need one spring.your truck will be 3/4ton at least.i did one with my 96.with the bed heeped with green oak the springs still arent even close to flat.
