Subject: HD Payload IP: Logged
Message: Hi - On occasion I stick a lot of weight in the bed and the Dak has been *ok* so far, but not as good as my old Ranger (please don't bite my head off for that comment!).
I thought I had HD payload in my 99 CC 4x4 v8 but a quick check just revealed that I don't :-( The payload is only 1450#. I do see that my year had the option for an 1800# payload :-) What was done to the truck to up the rating? Just stiffer leafs out back, or was there more to it like oil/trans cooler, beefier torsion bars, bigger brakes, etc.???? My tag shows HD rear brakes but no ext. coolers.
I have added leafs in the past, but I love this truck and I want to treat her right for this upgrade and not just toss in another pair of leaves. My 92 Dak was a beater and I added 2 more to each side, hehe.
Looks like this will push back the time-frame on some of the more fun mods though :-(
So how about it? What was included in the package?
Thanks!

Message: Don't know, but Roadmaster active suspension is a great alternative to the add-a-leafs. More capacity, better handling, about 2" lift.

Message: I looked at them a little. They seem like a good idea, but I didn't see a real published number for how much payload capacity they add. I also didn't see where they give any lift. I don't want lift anyway though.
