Subject: 4.7 Manual gone crazy? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 5-speed 4.7 Dakota RC, and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Well since Im new to standard shift vehicles this may be common, but sometimes if Im going really slow or about to pull out and I almost kill it,(greenhorn it), the engine enters this state to where you think its gonna die but it just setts there shaking and rumbling at about 600 RPM and you can give it gas, or let the clutch out in neutral and (no Change?) it wont quit this shaking state, so I have to turn it off and restart it?? Anyone please? I need to know if it may be serious and Ill have it checked out by the 5* Service Techs! HAHA! Yeah right!

Message: Give it just a bit More gas before you let out all the way on the clutch. Its a ballancing act. There is a spot called your friction point its where the clutch begins to grab, you need to ballance that spot with the gas. You'll get it It took me about a montht to master the entire process including steep hills. Now I can take on any kill with no rollback :) The other thing to watch out for it getting too high rpms then letting out on the clutch.
