Subject: A/C not working IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1990 Dakota where the the A/C does not work when the switch is pressed. I have checked the switch and that is working fine. I can force the A/C to go on by jumping the solenoid under the hood, so that works. Looking at the Haynes crapy electrical diagram, I'm having a hard time tracking down what else could be causing the A/C not to go on. Anyone out there have a similar problem?
Thanks
Tim

Message: Try checking the fuse for the A/C clutch. Mine is a 93 and is on the same fuse as the backup lights.

Message: sounds like you have a bad solenoid, because if you can jump / bypass the solenoid and the a/c works that sounds like no current is flowing through the solenoid. This being said not knowing everything that is operated by this solenoid.

Message: The probelm ended up being the buck/up fuse. Replaced that and all works fine.

Message: Where can I get a diagram of the fuse panel and the circuits they service. I don't have an owners manual.
