Im looking for someone to do work on my 01 dak quad, 4X4, 4.7. I want to install a limited slip. I have 3.55 but want to change it to 3.92. Do I have to change to front gears also? Im also looking to put in a 3" body lift, add-a-leaf in rear. All shops here want to order thier own parts at a much higher cost than I can get them for. Then after my tires wear out I will swap for 33" tires (not sure what brand yet I have stock 16" rims) Any suggestions or if you are willing to do the work in the Minneapolis Minnesota area please Email me tommy21000@msn.com. I also welcome any feedback on my plans for my truck. Thanks

Body lift in on Wed and hopefully the add-a-leaf. The shop cant fint a add-a-leaf for my truck 01 quad 4X4. I told them about Fabtech and Rough Country. They will try to get by Wed or Ill order and do it myself. Next is rims and tires. I think I will get 295/75R16 on 16X8 rims. Does this sound ok and How difficult/expensive is it to change gear ratio to 3.92. Does the front have to be done also...thanks Im still looking for a mechanic and suggestions for the truck.

Hey if you change the rear you have to change the front on a four wheel drive. Changing gears takes some special (expensive) tools. But being your a contractor you are probably mechanically inclined so if you get a chilton or haynes manaul and borrow the tools from a parts store, autozone, pep boys and checker all boorow tools. I'm sure you can do it. I'm down in mankato.

thanks piston but as far as auto mech goes I dont have the tools or experience to do it myself. I figure it will cost me more in time to try myself instead of working and then paying for someone to do it. I am just trying to minimum my expense a little without getting a hack. Do you know someone, Mankato isnt that far.

I know theres a 4x4 shop off of hwy 13 in the Burnsville area called Burnsville Off Road. I would assume they would do gear installs since its a 4x4 shop. You could give that a try.
