Message: I have 02 dak cc with the 3.9 I love this truck 50000km. Dealer just presented me with a nice deal for 04 ram with hemi SLT and lots of extras .(they have client that wants my dak)
I'm torn I want a bigger truck and the power...but how much worse on fuel is this thing going to be? and I need about 18hrs to pull all my electronics out.
so bottom line should I keep my dak or get ride the ram?

Message: I'm truly torn because the $ is not really an issue. I think it would cost me an extra $50 month(yes it's a silly price). But if fuel is going to be another $100. well that hardly makes it worth it.

Message: Not trying to bust your bubble here, and by all means, if you want the Ram and you get a good deal roll with it, BUT... Dodge has been doing that sales ploy for a while. Sometimes they call you but usually it's a letter. They stated that they need used Dakota's of your year/mileage/etc and they are willing to give you a good deal to get your dakota back. They do it between 2-3 years into your current truck ownership (prime trade in times of course) and there sole goal is to sell you a new truck.

Message: I think alft4 might have a 5 speed instid of the crappy 4 speed auto. But I to would rather have the 287 OHC instid. Whats the fuel econ on the 3.7 6? An is the any feel in performance?
For right now I'm sticking with my trusty 318.

Message: A kid I know has a Reg Cab Auto 4x4 Hemi, I don't know if he was joking with me, but he said he gets 17 with it. I also know for a fact he beats the living crap out of the vehicles he drives, because if it brakes, daddy will buy him a new vehicle.

Message: well the hemi is parked outside my office window..it's nice..it goes like crazy. I left it outside last night it's not mine yet(kept my DAk in the heated garage) the Hemi started no problem @ -28c not plugged in.
Bottom line is I can hit the speed limit faster!!
But..it looks like a family/work truck..not mean enough(Silver slt qc 4x4 with light group). My DAK still looks more fun/cooler.
The ram is still screwed for putting in custom audio gear. and looks whimpy with the 17" wheels.
BUt sadly I still like it. Justi is correct about dealers, however I'm in small town so it is a little more personal that most.
Time will tell..maybe the next post will include ownership papers or I'll be praising me DAK more.
