A500 first appeared in 1988 model year, but there may be '88's with the 3-speed too.

thanks for the info. I realy want the magnum 3.9 and the od trans, so I'm going to buy another 1st gen Dak, so it will be between 92 and 96. Did they still use the 3 speed trans after 92 or am I safe with any 92 and later Dak?

first of all, 93 to 96 is gen 2. also, that auto is used until 96 i believe.
