Subject: Mud guards on my R/T IP: Logged
Message: I just bought a 2000 Amber Fire R/T that I found on e-bay. It had 9,200 miles on it and had never seen rain or snow. Well, I live in northern Indiana near Lake Michigan and we get a lot of snow. I hate like Hell to drive it in the winter, but I sold my '92 318 LE and don't have a choice. My wife thinks I've gone nuts - I wash it almost every day just to keep the salt and snow off of it as much as possible. I've considered putting mud guards on it but really don't want to screw up a great looking truck. I found some by Husky that are made especially for a Dak w/fender flares and can be painted that I thought might not look to bad. Has anyone put mud guards on their R/T and how does is look. Any suggestions? By the way, I'm 53 years young and having a ball with my new toy.

Message: i have a black r/t and put the husky guards on and i think they make the truck look even better than before but there was one thing..... i trimmed the front guards about 2 inches cause there is a line on them where it looks like it is made to be cut and this made the front guards look perfect or they woulda been too low. overall, very satisfied and they keep the truck much cleaner

Message: Thanks for your suggestions and comments. I think I'll go for the Husky flaps. I'll see how they look black - might blend right in with the black accents and tonneau cover. If not, I'll paint 'em to match the truck.
