I love Mopar, don't get me wrong, but DC is headed down the wrong path. If they just read this message board they'd know what the consumer really wants. They were innovative when they came out with gen III, but now they are just going backwards. We are better off with what we got now and making it what we want. The 2005 front grill looks like a big mouth bass saying duuuh, and the lights look like a nerd with glasses. The interior is very plain and the power plant is going downhill! What are they thinking??????

Give it some time. I didn't like the gen3's when they first came out. That silly looking headlight/grill comb looks like something smiling at you. Now I'm on my 3rd one. I'll have to give it a year or so before I can say I like it or dislike it. One thing has got to go for sure and that's those damn tailights! It looks like a TOYOTA stepside with those tailights. I'll wait until someone comes out with some trick smooth tailights before I buy one.

I have to agree with Cdawg, the front end looks kind of NERDISH. Kind of like someone gave it a FAT LIP.
I'll fix up my 2003 the way I like it and drive it until I can't fix it any more.

The front still looks like a crossed-eyed mongoose, the grill is retarded with a square frame, right angles, and too high, not rectangular, the cross isn't even a cross anymore (I shaved mine out long ago, looks much better). The rims are a joke. They need to innovative not imatate. Maybe the designers need to smoke a fatty before they sit down for the 2006.
And give it time to grow on me? It's love at first sight or no love, u'r just accepting a failure. It's not gonna grow a better engine while sitting in the driveway. At least the SRT ram has some balls and looks better. The chevy's look like a high chinaman with the slanted lights, at least the f150'S are getting better looking, though I still hate ford's, they are moving foward. They learned their mistakes with the mustang....not giving the consumer what they want. DC needs to do a 180 with dakota in the future. And I love the boasting about best in class for a mid-size truck, like who's the damn competion?

Who's the competition? Chevy has the Colorado now....
No engine? Although it is only available in the 4.7L in 2005, isn't the HEMI going to be available by 2006? 345hp isn't enough?
The design of the front end is in anticipation for the new laws the government is supposedly going to pass concerning SUV's. The front bumper was lowered. Since this thing is based off the Durango, they basically used the same front end.
I still think the tailights are the biggest styling flaw. I know I'll never get used to those Glaucoma looking lense sticking out.

I'll be interested in seeing what kind (if any) commercials we will see for the 2005 Dak.
If we do see some commercials we will be able to figure out the market they redesigned the new Dak to appeal to.

So ... my choices are .... 2006 Ugly-A$$ DAK with a HEMI ... or keeping my rotor eating, balljoint busting, flaw ridden 2002 DAK that's just as pretty as could be ....
.... looks like I'll be getting that F-150 when the warranty on the DAK runs out.

We are not trashing our fav brand, we're questioning the thought pattern of the designers for a truck that's not even out yet. But I'm also trashing your vehicle of choice if you could read. Don't get me wrong, Dodge still eats fords and sh!ts chevys. What happened did the chevy board kick you out or is there just not enough dedicated owners for a board? I wouldn't know because I don't waste my time on other boards, bashing people because my life is soo boring and mundane. I also actually own a vehicle (not just writing dodge driver) and look to the board for others expierence. How many races did chevy win in the truck series? get a life and stop playing with yourself.
