Subject: help my 88 dakota has no power

i bought this 1988 dodge dakota and it runs but has no power when you gas it . it almost floods itself out its like its getting too much fuel is there something i have to replace or scan tool i need to fix this or is it something serious .

at a loss....please help

Sounds like O2 senser for the most to me. You have
any idea when was the last complete tune up? If
you don't, change wires, cap, rotor, plugs and
all filters including fuel (on frame rail).

After that and if still doesn't run right, you'll
need to put it on a computer and see what is
causing the problem. In fact, might want to do
that first.

Lets face it, it's an 88 and that's the least you
you can do for it.
